Pillars of Destinction
Responding to the needs of our clients is our business. Determining and meeting their objectives is our mission. To establish objectives both parties must work together in a partnership to develop an understanding of the outcomes desired for each training event.
This is where Itplanit sets itself apart from the competition. Our goal is to meet your objectives while staying within your budget. Many of our clients are requesting
specific performance oriented training programs.
FIRST — We learn about your organization, and specific issues to determine the objectives you need to achieve.
SECOND — Working collaboratively with you, we determine how to meet those objectives. If training will meet the objectives, we work with you to customize the necessary training content and the best delivery method.
It all adds up to S.M.A.R.T. training. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Trackable
Some example of what can be done:
Office Productivity – End User
For the past twenty years organizations have been sending their employees to Intro, Intermediate and Advanced level training courses. In the past this was sufficient. Downward pressure was placed on productivity as employees struggled with learning how to apply their new skills to the tasks at the workplace. Customization can, in part, be the solution to this problem and allows you to utilize the power of MS Office products such as Excel and Access. Training then becomes task specific and solution based. What applications do you want to automate? What skills do you need? Customized training may be the answer.
The good news! There is no charge for customizing your courses.
Technical Training
Through innovation and creativity Itplanit can help you stretch your training dollar and meet or surpass your expectations.
Case Study
When they were awarded the contract to supply call centre services for Dell Computer, Sitel agreed to certify all of their call centre agents as Microsoft Certified System Engineers.
The Challenge
As part of their agreement with Dell it was a requirement that all 125-call center agents were in possession of MCSE certification and they had three months to accomplish this. They could not afford to have agents away from the call centre as the volume of calls would not permit. Training had to be given after their shifts were completed.
The Solution
All agents were interviewed and the skills and knowledge of each was evaluated. A course curriculum was developed. It was determined that the maximum classroom time that could be endured was 4 hours per day. This put a strain on the participants as they had just completed an eight-hour shift. Two groups were trained each day. One in the morning before their afternoon shift and one in the afternoon for the shift that started in the a.m. The class size for each group was 20 - 25.
Classes were given over a 20-day period. During this time they were given 6 different courses and 7 certification exams. Coaching, mentoring and teamwork sessions were conducted to increase exam preparedness. Using this model we were able to train 40 – 50 employees each month.
The Result
All 125 agents were successful in attaining their MCSE certification.

Business Skills
Programs that lend themselves to customization are Leadership, Project Management and Business Analysis. Increasingly organizations are discovering that generic training for these skills is not the solution to their problem. Providing a methodology that is relevant to your requirements can be. As one example this can involve the development of a case study that is relevant to your organization. This can then be used for the training event. The knowledge learned can then be used immediately upon return to the workplace.
IT Service Management
All organizations practice some type of service management. ITIL has become the defacto standard to which many organizations are turning to deliver IT services. The first question to ask is ‘is it for me?’ Our assessment tools will assist in that decision. Once an assessment is completed the proper customized training can be introduced. Combing Project Management, Business Analysis and Service Management training is a very effective way of implementing any new service management processes.
